Position Description The role has two separate, but related functions, that together shall total 40 hours a week:
Function 1: Community Manager for 801 Marquette (30 hours a week) The atrium serving the 800,000 square foot 801 Marquette building has recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation, overseen by CBRE (leasing agent) Ryan Cos (property manager) and Perkins + Will (designer). The transformed space, to be opened in September of 2017, is now home to:
A laser projector capable of producing a 40 foot images and movies on the 4-story wall facing one of the busiest skyways in Downtown Minneapolis
An array of comfortable lounge-style seating
A café to open later in the Fall of 2017
As Community Manager of this space your responsibility is to make this transformed space become one of THE places to be, see and be seen, to work, and to be inspired in Downtown Minneapolis. You are the space’s mini-mayor. You will be the guardian of the space and keeper of its culture and mission. You will facilitate an environment of community, collaboration, and creation. You will be on the ground floor, helping to shape the next generation of work space. Your responsibilities will include:
Being onsite 10-20 hours a week to build relationships with tenants and guests and deliver high quality experiences and events
Create and execute new processes, procedures, and systems
Plan and execute (monthly):
8 hours of repeatable screen content
10-20 hours of one-time/periodic screen content
6-8 small events targeted at building-specific interests
Create distribute communications, including: e-newsletters, signage, etc.
Manage 2 social media platforms
Manage, create reports, and help enhance our unique customer/tenant relationship management system
Recruit outside partners and vendors to activate the atrium and be part of events
Collaborate with property management, the leasing team, security, cleaning and other building actors to foster positive and valuable experiences in the atrium
Function 2: Communications and Project Management for other Musicant Group efforts (10 hours a week) The Musicant Group is a one of a kind organization in the Twin Cities and nationally. We are pioneering a new way of creating physical places that make people feel truly alive and increase commercial value. Interest in this approach is growing; within commercial and governmental sectors, but also for individuals and communities who strive to foster dynamic places within the everyday spaces of our lives. To accelerate the widespread adoption of community-driven placemaking activities, we have developed a number of public education tools in the form of workshops, toolkits, and the Friendly Fronts framework (www.friendlyfronts.com).
So, in addition the responsibilities associated with 801 Marquette, this role would oversee Musicant Group’s external communications and community building efforts.
Responsibilities would include a combination of the following:
Managing Musicant Group and Friendly Fronts websites, newsletters, and social media accounts
Creation of marketing and communication materials
Promoting Musicant Group events and project sites
Recruiting promotional partners and vendors to be part of Musicant Group projects
Writing blogs, articles, and case studies related to the firm’s work
Assist and/or lead on other projects as defined
This position will report to Max Musicant, Principal, work closely with John Pederson, Community Systems Manager, and collaborate with other Musicant Group team members. The position will also work closely with the property management team of Ryan Companies.

$35,000-$42,000 salary, depending on experience
We are a small, but growing company that cares deeply about everyone on the team. We thus offer a compensation package that marries these two facts, which includes a monthly stipend above salary to cover life expenses as well as a generous PTO/vacation policy. As we continue to grow, the benefit package will also grow as we are able to provide them to everyone on the team.
