John Pederson, Project Manager, Capella Tower
John Pederson (aka JP) heads up our special ops department, specializing in grassroots community conspiracies. He manages the Capella Tower community where he drinks way too much coffee while juggling events, a weekly farmers market, concert series and other delightful shenanigans.
John joins us from CoCo Coworking and Collaborative Space where he was a community manager and Director of Operations at The Mighty Mo! Web Development Company. John is the founder of the the 612 Sauna Society, a Twin Cities-based community sharing the transformative tradition of sauna. He trained as a journalist by producing programs for NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me!” and “To the Best of Our Knowledge” before moving to Indonesia to start the country’s first student-run radio station as a Fulbright fellow in Sumatra. When he's not at Capella Tower or in the sauna, he's heating things up on the dance floor as a DJ and organizer of The Dance Shanty.
His influences include: Stephen Jenkinson, Sam Harris, Culvers Concret Mixers, Tim Ferriss, Sue Morrison and Frank Zappa.
Places that have influenced him include: Jakarta, Breitenbush Bush Hot Springs, Buenos Aires, and the "time-out corner" (thanks Mom!).
