Kim Peterson: Division Manager, Community Management
With experiences in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, Kim (she/her) develops big ideas and achieves ambitious goals through community-centered innovation.
A skilled people manager adept at revitalizing workplace culture, motivating and engaging employees, and developing confident and capable talent; she leads our Community Management team developing long-term strategies, facilitating initiatives, and collaborative solutions. Kim believes that when we change the way we interact with and utilize spaces, we fundamentally change the ways we interact with each other. Drawing on her experiences as a performance artist, event producer, and community builder; she is energized by the potential of spaces to engage the people who use them and expanding that impact to include how spaces sit inside the wider community. She holds a Masters of Arts degree from Texas Woman's University, with her research focused on structural models for the funding and presentation of performing artists. Places that influence her include: Brooklyn, the parks of Minneapolis, the bluffs of St. Paul, Hennepin Avenue Bridge, the filigree iron works in downtown Chicago, protected bike lanes, Istanbul, open-air markets, public transit - especially trains and subways, the view from the Blue Ridge Mountains, street art, theatres, any large body of water.
