Linda Spohr: Senior Project Manager, Planning & Design
Linda (she/her) is a Senior Project Manager for the Planning and Design team. Linda brings to The Musicant Group a variety of work experience in the corporate setting as well as the public sector. Linda worked for 13 years as an instructional designer, trainer and project manager in the field of corporate education, creating custom training programs to lead companies through business process change. Most recently she worked for the State of Minnesota, focusing on comprehensive planning for the Capitol Area. Creative stakeholder engagement has been part of her work for her entire career.
Linda is passionate about the intersection of policy and design, seeking to write policy that keeps the end design in mind, and create design solutions that won’t run into policy roadblocks in the development process. Linda believes design changes don’t always need to be sweeping overhauls. Listening to the community and making strategic, small, incremental changes can have a great impact, creating public spaces that improve quality of life and community well-being for all. Linda is a certified project management professional (PMP) and brings to every project strong organizational leadership and a focus on deep community engagement to shape design decisions. Linda received a Master of Landscape Architecture degree with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. Her influences include: Jane Goodall, Jane Jacobs, Jan Gehl, Walter Hood, and many writers, designers and promoters of walkable urbanism. Places and designs that inspire her include: trails and parks of the Twin Cities and beyond, Millennium Park, Bryant Park, functional art, health-focused designs, walkable cities, main streets. |
